Office of the University Council Showcases Innovation
WU INNOVATION DAY 2026
On August 27, 2026, the Office of the University Council participated in presenting process innovations at WU Innovation SDGs Plus 2026, held at the Pattarathammaporn Conference Room, Walailak University Hospital.
The team presented an innovative project titled “Transforming Static PDFs into an Instant Search Database for Council Resolutions.” The project was initiated to resolve bottleneck issues in retrieving past university council resolutions. Previously, with 300–400 resolutions issued annually and stored as individual, static PDF files, searching was inefficient—requiring staff to use Ctrl+F through files one by one. This process averaged 20 minutes per query and relied heavily on personal memory.
To solve this, the team integrated AI with Low-Code tools, converting static PDF documents into a dynamic web application database. The results were remarkable ✨
1. Streamlined Workflow: Reduced process steps from 3 steps down to just 1 step (one-click retrieval).
2. Ultra-Fast Search: Cut search time from 20 minutes to less than 5 seconds per query (a 99.6% reduction in time).
3. Zero-Budget Solution: Developed at zero cost under the Zero-Budget Innovation concept.
4. SDGs Alignment: Directly supported UN Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
This innovation empowers staff to work “less, faster, and more accurately,” enhancing organizational data efficiency to support transparent and highly effective policy decision-making.
